We have had an incredible Christmas this year! It was so much fun, because for the first time, Bailee understood. Or at least knew that the toys were better than the wrappings!
We began the Christmas festivities on Saturday night with Patrick's side of the family at his Nana's house. Bailee had a great time playing with her older cousins! We are so blessed to have such a fabulous extended family!
On Christmas Eve, we went to Patrick's parents house for dinner and presents. As always, the food was delicious, and Bailee racked up with all sorts of gifts! She is definitely into ELMO (if you couldn't tell from all the loot!) and Sesame Street. But the biggest and best gift was her tricycle! Yes, tricycle, and at first she wasn't too thrilled, but once Patrick started pushing her around on it, she loved it! She still wasn't too crazy about the helmet, but after her Uncle Reed's cycling extravaganzas, she will definitely be wearing one!
We had our own Christmas here on Thursday morning...We had been asking her if she wanted Santa to come to her house and bring her presents, and she'd reply "No." But I think once she saw all that he brought her, she was a little more up on the idea! You can see from her face, though, she was a little confused when she walked into the living room and saw a whole bunch of new things! Santa brought Bailee (among other little things) a laptop computer, an easel, and a kitchen set! Wonderful! She would have played with it all day if we hadn't had to load up and head to the next shindig!
On Christmas Day, we drove up to Simpsonville to spend the afternoon with my family. I was so happy to see my brother and (thanks to SKYPE, his girlfriend, Kathryn). Bailee again got to open presents, and scored BIG! She got ELMO Live, a baby doll, stroller, apron and chef's hat, and a pair of camo coveralls from Uncle Reed. We ate a delicious dinner, and then played some Wii and Ladder Golf.
It was a fabulous Christmas, and we are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends! From our family to yours, wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
