Milk...

doesn't ALWAYS do a body good!

Bailee has wanted nothing but milk for the past week (or so), and thinking there was nothing wrong with milk, I gave it to her. Well, milk in excess can bind you up and cause quite a tummy ache. I didn't want her to get dehydrated, so I'd give her more and make the problems worse. Now that I know, we've had nothing but clear liquids, and she got a much better night's rest last night!

She also has a case of thrush (most likely caused by her last round of antibiotics for an ear infection), and has to take an oral medication for that. However, that causes "nausea/ vomiting/ other GI issues" according to the medicine label. JOY!!!! We solve one problem only to replace it with another!

Maybe one of these days we'll get everyone feeling well....

HELP!!!

As many of you know, Bailee has never been a fantastic sleeper, but we've hit an all-time low this week. She has started waking up at 1:00 and stays awake for about 2 1/2- 3 hours. She tosses and turns, starts to drift off back to sleep, and then wakes herself back up. It's exhausting!!!

If you have any sleep advice to give, please help!!! We are desperate!

Cafe Bailee

Using her new kitchen, Bailee set up a restaurant the other night and entertained Elmo and her bumblebee. Her imagination is really starting to develop and she had such a great time playing cook and hostess!

Great Depression Day

Moving right through American history, we held a Great Depression Day last Wednesday. The students got to visit different stations simulating life during the 1930s. Dressed in hobo attire, they experienced the stock market crash and life as a Dust Bowl farmer, they listened to FDR's fireside chats, built shantytowns and waited in bread lines, and then saw some of the entertainment of the time. It was a great experience for the students and teachers!

We have so much fun working together trying to make learning fun for our students!

Toadily Fun

We went to Toadily Fun this morning for our friends' daughter, Maeve's birthday party. Bailee's a little too short to climb the stairs by herself, so I had to get in there with her. We romped around and had a good time! She was so disappointed when we had to leave, but she crashed as soon as we got home!

Family Day

We had a busy family day on Saturday by going to Falls Park in Greenville, the circus, and then to Eli's birthday party.

A day like this just reminds us how thankful we are for all the blessings God has given us: a wonderful daughter who brightens our every day, great family and friends, and the opportunity to spend time together like this!

Happy EARLY Birthday, Bailee!

Bailee won't be two for another month, but we had to go ahead and give her her present. I ordered her the Everywhere Chair from Pottery Barn Kids thinking it would take at least two weeks to arrive. WRONG! It came in less than a week! The box was huge and taking up too much room, and in our little house already busting at the seams, we decided to go ahead and surprise her! She loved it and has been sitting in it all afternoon!
