I'm SAD!

Why, might you ask? Because my baby girl is FOUR!!!! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home our sweet little bundle of joy! And now she's all grown up! Over the last week, we've been reflecting on our first days home with her....We still get tickled talking about how much hair she had! She was quite content where she was, and needed a little convincing to come out and greet the world. As it was, she was about 5 days past her due date, and when she was born, the child had finger nails like daggers and hair that already required a bow! She even had patches of hair on her shoulders and thighs, which she'll hate me for sharing with everyone! Honestly, though, if she was swaddled, she looked like an Eskimo because she had this beautiful dark complexion and stunningly dark features. She has been and continues to be a blessing to us each and every day.

• Right now, she is quite the diva, and doesn't mind telling you what she thinks. I am proud of her for her independent spirit.
• She is constantly amazing me with what she knows and can do. She has been reciting Bible verses, and is learning by leaps and bounds in school.
• She is love bug, and wants nothing more than to please Mommy and Daddy. She loves cuddling with me in the bed, and when she falls asleep in my arms, I just stare at her and her beauty.
• She loves princess stuff (perhaps because she dreams of being a princess).
• She has an amazing imagination. There are times when I just sit and watch and listen to her. She can come up with some of the most intricate stories.
• She loves her baby brother and is very motherly towards him. She has never once shown an ounce of jealousy. She is very nurturing and wants to protect him. She loves making sill faces at him to get him to laugh, and I just love the way she loves him!
• She loves Fancy Nancy, and can read an entire book. (Video to follow shortly!) Side Note: we will be baking our "delectable cupcakes" tomorrow so she can take them into her class on Monday.)
• She loves to wrestle with her Daddy. (Or is it pronounced "RASTLE"?) They get in Nathan's room and tustle and throw down like they are championship wrestlers! It's especially funny when she delivers a "power blow" and then walks around shouting "WOO!"
• She is a Mommy's Girl most of the time, but a Daddy's Girl at nights and first thing in the morning. They are so much alike and can fight like cats and dogs, but then a moment later, they are back to being best buds.

So, I'm sad that my baby girl is four, but I'm so proud of the person she has become and continues to grow into. Bailee, you are so very special to Mommy and Daddy, and we love you very much! I can't wait to see what this next year holds for you, and here's to many more birthdays together!!! Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl!!!!
