It's been almost two weeks since I last posted, but with good reason! In case you haven't heard (or read it on Facebook), we're expecting again! Baby #2 is due February 16th(ish), which means I'm about 8 weeks along. I know it's early to be making this announcement, but as my friend Carrie put it, "the sooner you start telling people, the sooner they can start praying for you!" So, we're going ahead and putting it out there so everyone can start praying! 8 weeks also means I'm in the middle of the peak of my morning sickness!!! I think a week in the hospital already had me worn down, but this pregnancy definitely feels different! I am far more sick than I was with Bailee...I've been laid up in the bed for the past 6 days, unable to keep anything more than ice chips down! We've been to the doctor and they've now put me on a third medication (Phenergen), which makes me very sleepy, but when alternating it and Reglan, I am able to keep a little more down. With no energy, it's hard to keep up with a 2 year old!!! Thankfully, our families have really helped out with Ms. Bailee Boo! I pray that this is a healthy pregnancy with a happy, healthy baby and that I am finally through the worst part of my sickness!!!
Secondly, many of you have been gripped to the TV this past week watching the news unfold of the Gaffney serial killer. Sadly, one of his victims (Gena Linder Parker) worked at my school. She was an amazing teacher that taught me so many wonderful lessons as a teacher. I had the privilege of working next door to Gena my first year at Calhoun. I'd often teach with my door open so I could hear how she'd teach something, and then try to emulate it in my classroom. She will definitely be missed at Calhoun! Her wonderful sense of humor and bubbly personality will forever be remembered! Right now, the family, especially her husband Scott and two sons, Drake and Wright, need our prayers!
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and is enjoying your summer! We'll keep you posted as things develop, and hopefully I'll be better about posting in the future.
